WHALE WATCHING: Whales start arriving in April and stay till around the end of September. They come quite close to shore at times and are usually visible most of the day, especially in the months of May, June, and July. Breaching and bubble feeding are very common whale activities that may frequently be viewed from your room. Local charter operators may also book you for a sightseeing trip. Local skiff rentals are available for day use.
BEACHCOMBING:The local beach is rocky with interesting things to see. Good footgear a must.
WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY: Photo opportunities abound right out your window. Two eagle nesting trees are visible from our property with one of them visible just out your room window. Eagles are here year around as well as several kinds of ducks and other sea birds.
FISHING: There are several freshwater streams and lakes around the Coffman Cove area with excellent fishing for cutthroat trout, dolly varden, steelhead and salmon depending on the time of year. Saltwater fishing for salmon and halibut is also excellent and local guides and charter boat operators are available.
